Barb and Terry DonohueWhen you’re passionate about helping others, contributions can come in many forms. For Barb and Terry Donohue, helping Operation Food Search (OFS) started in the 1990s with volunteering to pick up donated food—from shelf-stable items to 25-pound bags of bagels—and delivering them to the OFS warehouse.

“We wanted to help feed people in need,” says Barb.

“The more we learned about OFS, the more committed we became to helping.”

The couple’s involvement grew from there. Over the next 25 years, Barb did graphic design for OFS events, became an avid volunteer, and proudly served on the board. Terry, an executive at Enterprise Holdings, helped OFS submit grant proposals and secure funding.

In 2019, Barb and Terry deepened their commitment even more by becoming co-chairs of the Sunny Day Endowment Campaign and were the first friends to establish a legacy gift for the campaign.

“It’s a natural evolution of support when you believe in the work,” says Terry. “Nothing makes a statement about hope for the future like the legacy you choose to leave. By making a planned gift, Barb and I are fortunate to be able to contribute to this important work long into the future.”
